THRILLER and THE GOLD DIGGERS are groundbreaking early works by Sally Potter, who later achieved international success. THRILLER rewrites Puccini's La Bohème as the “first feminist murder mystery” (B. Ruby Rich), while THE GOLD DIGGERS weaves influences from silent film and science fiction, surrealism and post-punk into a Brechtian musical about the relationship between women and capitalism, with songs by avant-rock bassoonist Lindsay Cooper.
